Don Watkins Memorial Scholarship
The $1,500 Don Watkins Scholarship is awarded each year to
graduates of Idaho high schools who have completed one year of college
and wish to pursue a career in journalism or communications. Full-time
students majoring in journalism or working for a college or
professional media outlet are eligible.
To apply, submit a one-page resume; a 500-word essay explaining
your interest in a journalism or communications career; samples of
your journalistic work, whether published or unpublished; and a copy
of your transcripts, including GPA, through the most recent fall term.

The application deadline is Feb. 15 each year for the scholarship

Don Watkins / IPC Mid-Career Scholarship
The Idaho Press Club's Don Watkins Mid-Career Scholarship awards
$500 for a member to use for any training or project that will improve
the working press in Idaho. (Yes, that does include going to that
conference you've been wanting to attend!) The only catch: You must
share what you learn with Press Club members through a talk or an
article in the Communicator. You qualify if you have at least seven
years experience in the business, and at least three years of that is
in Idaho.
