KRDO TV is looking for a Digital Content Director.
The winning candidate will have special responsibilities for producing and managing the production of top quality news content on the KRDO.com Web site.
Job Description:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Checking and rewriting reporter stories for accuracy, clarity and converting as to Web suitable format; coaching and directing reporters to write stories in the proper format and style for Web publication; completing or delegating stories which are not assigned to reporters so that they can be written and completed for broadcast and publication to the Web site; responds to viewer inquiries, makes regular beat check calls to police and fire agencies to stay on top of breaking news leading up to the next newscast when other newsroom managers are not on duty; supervises the posting and organization of stories and other content on station Web site. Position is also responsible for being on-call to trouble shoot site-related problems.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a college degree or equivalent experience in journalism, mass communications or similar field; excellent communication skills, good news judgment and excellent computer skills; must be a self starter committed to keeping our Web site current, exciting, interactive and loaded with news and information; must be organized and an excellent writer. Knowledge of programs such as Flash and Photoshop and also writing HTML a plus.
