OFFICE of the GOVERNOR Press Secretary – Full-Time

The Governor’s Office is seeking an individual to serve as the Governor’s Press Secretary. This position reports to the Governor’s Director of Communications.Example of Duties

Job Responsibilities 

  • Manage all social media accounts for the Governor
  • Shoot and edit video, manage TV newsroom-quality equipment
  • Maintain positive relationships with members of the press
  • Respond to media inquiries
  • Prepare graphics and visuals using professional and/or web-based graphics creation programs
  • Record and edit audio
  • Take photos at events in the Governor’s Office and in the community
  • Knowledge of state government and Idaho politics
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional degree in journalism and/or communications
  • Experience working in a TV newsroom
  • Experience in managing social media accounts for an employer
  • Experience shooting and editing video
  • First-hand experience working in, or with, Idaho media outlets
