Audrey is a reporter for ProPublica and chairs the Press Club’s training committee.
Audrey is originally from Twin Falls. She went to college in St. Paul, Minnesota, then took a job at a mental health clinic specializing in issues related to sex and gender. The people she met there inspired her first big story as a freelance writer — a feature on the Twin Cities transgender community — and she realized she wanted to do journalism forever. She got a master’s degree from Columbia University’s journalism school and moved to Washington, D.C., where she covered government, local news, municipal finance and transportation policy. She also wrote for alt-weeklies and magazines on everything from unsolved murders in New York to bed bugs in D.C. to sick nuclear workers in Idaho Falls.
Audrey returned to Idaho in 2011 to work for the Idaho Statesman, then became one of the inaugural reporters at the Idaho Capital Sun in 2021. She lives in Boise with her husband, daughter and two goofy cats.
