Judge’s comments: "The S-R is a beautifully designed paper that appreciates good photos and graphics and knows how to play them. The ‘Handle’ section is an innovative way to engage readers. Feature sections are strong and consistent. Weaknesses: writing often was flat and did not live up to play. Business content very uneven. Sports and commentary are not really Idaho sections."

General requirements and date information for entry:
- All entries in this year's Idaho Press Club Awards Contest- except broadcast General Excellence--must have been broadcast, telecast or published in Idaho during the 2012 calendar year.
- This year's deadline is January 22, 2013; all entries must be submitted no later than that date.
