President’s column: Time to celebrate Idaho’s best journalism

By Betsy Russell

It’s time for the annual Idaho Press Club awards banquet! So make your reservations, get dressed up, and come out and celebrate. We all deserve it!

This  big event will be Saturday, April 27, at the Boise Centre East, fourth floor, starting with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and awards at 7 p.m. The Boise Centre is located at 850 W. Front St. in the heart of downtown Boise.

This year’s menu includes: Rosemary and mustard marinated pork loin with Basque piperade; grilled Red Bird chicken breast with roasted garlic, artichoke, and sundried tomato ragout; tomato and fresh mozzarella salad; green bean salad with romaine hearts and Kalamata olives; creamy lemon and parmesan polenta; and Tiramisu. Those who prefer a vegetarian option will need to reserve their entrée – grilled zucchini with a quinoa-kale-black bean hash, sweet potato puree, and vegan pesto – in advance when they register online.

You can register and pay online here:

Tickets are $60 for Idaho Press Club members (prices include a $2 processing fee), or $67 for non-members (prices include a $2 processing fee). For a reserved table for 10 (highly recommended, if you want to sit with your folks!), it’s $590 (price include a $16 processing fee). The deadline for registration is Friday, April 19.
